I
am thankful,
It’s
been about 5 years, since I have taken a vacation, and as I sit here looking
out the windows of a rental home in West Virginia, I am thankful. This morning
as I read 1st Peter chapter 2, I am overwhelmed by the greatness and the
kindness of my Savior Jesus. I have come to realize that the Christian life is
a very difficult one to live, but that because of Jesus I can now live my life,
not controlled by my passions, but controlled by my God. And as I read 1st
Peter I know that it won’t be easy, but that it can be done, and I know that
even if I have to suffer while trying to live for Christ, He is worth the
suffering. At the very end of chapter 2 Jesus is called the Overseer of your
souls. I thought about that title, for all who have placed their faith in Him,
He is now the caretaker and Overseer of their souls, and for that I am
thankful. For who better, could ever care for my soul, than the one who created
my soul.
